Gum disease are classified according to the severity of the infection and they are divided into 2 stages - Gingivitis and Periodontitis
>Gingivitis (Inflammation of the gums) is a common infection that begins with the bacterial accumulation in the mouth.
>Periodontitis is the advanced stage of gingivitis where the infection destructs the supporting structures of the teeth leading to loss of bone and loosening the teeth.
Prevention from Gum Disease :
- Daily oral hygiene like brushing and flossing.
- Using fluoridated toothpaste and changing your brush once every 2 to 3 months due to fraying of bristles.
- Avoid consumption of food and liquid that contains high amount of sugar.
- Drink plenty of water which reduces inflammation and produce more saliva.
- Regular visits to dentist.
